HEOS wireless audio system
HEOS Wireless Audio system
We are pleased to have recently added the HEOS wireless audio system to our portfolio. This is a new multi-room audio system introduced by the renowned Hi-Fi audio company, Denon, which has also seen the superb HEOS Drive recently nominated for a CEDIA award for most innovative product. The Drive combines a multi-channel amplifier with a multi-input network player, allowing independent four-zone audio distribution from a single compact unit.
The Drive is part of a range of HEOS products that allow audio to be wirelessly streamed simultaneously to multiple rooms, controlled very simply using a free app. for any mobile device. In particular, the HEOS Amp HS2 can be connected to any external speakers of your choosing (ceiling speakers included, of course) and installed out of sight for a very discreet installation. The un-amplified Link HS2 can also be connected to an existing stereo or home cinema system to enable HEOS audio to be played through existing amplification and electronics.
New Denon Receivers with integrated HEOS networking
Recently arrived in the UK are the Denon AVR-X4300H and AVR-X6300H home cinema receivers, which both combine the superb HEOS multi-room audio connectivity into proven home cinema amplification allowing your bespoke home cinema system to be fully integrated into a HEOS multi-room audio system. Both seamlessly integrate HEOS multi-room capability into a high-quality home cinema receiver, whilst allowing two different levels of performance and flexibility.
The entry-level Denon AVR- X2300W and AVR-X3300W receivers don’t have HEOS networking built-in however they can currently be purchased with a HEOS Link at a discounted price to allow these recovers to be included within the HEOS Multi-room audio network.
New dedicated HEOS AVR launched
Imminent to the UK market is the new slimline HEOS AVR, which is a dedicated App-controlled AV Receiver offering HEOS connectivity and control for anyone wanting to add a home cinema system into a HEOS network. It includes the bespoke HEOS App control and multi-room connectivity, as well as the opportunity to run wireless HEOS 1,3,5 or 7 speakers as rear speakers, or to use the HEOS Amp HS2 to drive ceiling speakers as part of the home cinema configuration.
The HEOS range is also very soon to be complemented by a dedicated Soundbar (the HEOS Bar) and wireless Subwoofer (the HEOS Sub), details of these shall follow soon.
The HEOS range is completed by four different size standalone wireless speakers designed to suit different sized rooms and a Soundbar/ Wireless Subwoofer-based all in one Home Cinema system. TV audio can be streamed to other locations very simply using the HEOS Control App.
All the new HS2 models have integrated Bluetooth connectivity for direct 1:1 audio streaming in addition to their Wi-Fi audio connectivity. A Bluetooth signal streamed to any of the HEOS system components can then be distributed around the rest of the system using the HEOS App.
We have found the Denon HEOS system to work extremely well. It is very easy to install, set up and use, and offers both great sound quality and very wide flexibility. As a system it is extremely versatile and offers access to high-resolution music from online sources such as Tidal, which is rare among multi-room audio systems.
The Amp HS2, the key product for creating a ceiling speaker based multi-room system, features analogue, optical digital and USB audio inputs on top of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and a class-leading 100 watt per channel output.
